Teacher Andrea
Lead Preschool Teacher
Andrea has been a part of CLP for 16 years. Initially, she was a parent member for five years while her children were enrolled in CLP, starting from toddler class through preschool. During this time, she also served on the CLP Parent Board as secretary and chair. Her teaching journey at CLP began with a year of teaching the toddler class. She was then hired to teach the preschool and extended day class, a role she has cherished for the past 10 years.
Before teaching preschool and becoming a full-time mom, Andrea earned a Bachelor of Science degree in plant biology and a Master of Science degree in soil science. Her background in science fuels her passion for incorporating science into the classroom, from exploring the life cycles of plants and animals to engaging with physical science concepts such as magnetism and flight.
Andrea finds great joy in working with young children, relishing their curiosity and eagerness to learn. She especially enjoys the challenge of helping children develop essential social-emotional skills that form the foundation for their future. One of her favorite aspects of teaching at CLP is contributing to the creation of a supportive community of families. She believes that a diverse community plays a crucial role in fostering well-being through social connection, support, and shared ideas.
Recently, Andrea earned a Master of Education degree in early childhood education, which has inspired new ideas for both teaching young children and leading a collaborative community of families.
